The Masters Preveiw

Ahhh, the Masters. The fresh cut grass, the atmosphere and feel of Augusta National and of course the dreaded 10th hole that nobody wants to try and tackle.

It is by far the best Golf tournament of the year and it is in the top five best yearly sporting events and what makes this years Masters a little more exciting than years past, is this year marks the return of Tiger Woods. Woods is entering the tournament for the first time since 2015 where he placed 17th. Tiger has had somewhat of a resurgence so far this year and there are a good amount of people, experts included, picking Tiger to win the Masters.

Now l love Tiger Woods, he and the Masters are the only reasons I ever watch golf, and him winning it this year would be incredible, but it seems way good to be true. Sure you have Fred Couples, quote from a BleacherReport article published on April second, saying this about Tigers warm up, “If you watched him play today, there's not much of a back problem. He's hitting it a long way, and it looks beautiful. Today wasn't any different than it was 10 years ago when we played. It was pretty awesome."

Okay so he played well during his practice holes, that's great but this is a guy who hasn't won a major since 2008, and hasn’t won the Masters since 2005. Tiger and Jordan Spieth have the best odds to win the Masters right now at 10/1 odds.

Despite people picking him and him being one of the favorites I just don’t see it, the guy is just starting to look good. For him to roll into the Masters and pump out a win would be quite the surprise, and remember, it's April now, the madness of March is over.

However I do think he will finish in the top 10, which would be a small win for him. So because Tiger isn't winning it this year, who is? Well every for about the last five years, I have either picked Jason Day or Dustin Johnson to win, and I have been wrong every year.

I want to pick Johnson again this year, but he hasn't shown that he can be trusted in those critical moments. So I’m going to go with Jordan Spieth. Spieth has had a while to really let the stardom sink in. He looks good and comfortable on the course, Tiger Woods is back in the Masters and Rory McIlroy is there as well so he is going to go in with very little pressure than what he's used to.

It is going to come down to the final day between McIlroy and Spieth, and even though Rory is putting at a extremely high level, his putting has always been hit or miss. The pressure gets to him on the final day and Speith just edges our Rory for his second green jacket. The 2018 roster is very promising, with names like Tiger Woods, Justin Rose, Jordan Spieth and Phil Mickelson, among others all mixed in, It should be a great fun filled weekend, at the Masters.
